Independent Auditing of Existing Buildings

There is no general legislative requirement for existing buildings to be continually upgraded to achieve compliance with current BCA, unless one of the following circumstances occur: · The building undergoes a ‘Change of Use’ · The building is proposed to be ‘Subdivided’ · The building undergoes a major refurbishment exceeding ‘50% of the existing volume’ · Alterations to existing ‘Paths of Travel’ are proposed · Council enforcement · Successful action through the Human Rights Commission or a Court of law for any other matter
