Meet our team - Alana Reyenga
What about your job gets you out of bed in the morning?
Everyday brings new challenges, whether it’s inspecting buildings for compliance or finding innovative solutions to construction problems. Knowing that my work directly impacts the safety and functionality of buildings, and ultimately the well-being of those who use them, is a powerful motivator. Plus, there’s always the satisfaction of seeing a project through from a concept to completion and knowing my role was crucial to its success.
What has been your favourite project to work on at pitt&sherry so far?
This is a really hard question, because what I love the most about my job is the huge variety of buildings I get to work on. However, one project that stands out is the Bryn Estyn Water Treatment Plant. Industrial projects present a distinct set of challenges and requirements compared to other building types. It was a steep but enjoyable learning curve for me and have come out with a comprehensive knowledge of AS1657.
A project at the opposite end of the spectrum which I have played a significant role is the revamp of Wrest Point Casino. It has been great to see an iconic Hobart building undergo revitalisation to meet contemporary standards and expectations.
What are your passions/hobbies?
My dogs are the loves of my life and I like to spend all of my spare time with them. I also enjoy cooking and reading.
