Patrick White
General Manager & Senior Principal Building Surveyor
Patrick has over 17 years experience in building surveying, he is a Senior Principal Building Surveyor - Unlimited and General Manager of pitt&sherry Building Surveying, based in our Melbourne office. He has worked in both private and government organisations as a private building surveyor and more recently as Municipal Building Surveyor with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA). Whilst at the VBA Patrick worked with the Cladding Safety Team, helping Owners, Building Managers and Cladding Safety Victoria to improve the safety of approximately 332 of Victoria’s most dangerously clad buildings. Patrick has also worked on milestone projects such as Australia 108, Melbourne Conservatorium of Music Concert Hall and the Victorian Racing Club Grandstand.

Julian Willoughby
Head of Operations & Senior Principal Building Surveyor
Julian has over 25 years’ experience in building surveying, including roles with local government and in the private sector. His core responsibility with pitt&sherry Building Surveying is managing building surveying services in northern Tasmania working from the Devonport and Launceston offices. During his time as a building surveyor Julian has gained sound skills and experience in a broad spectrum of construction project types, including residential and commercial construction. Julian’s experience with residential building projects covers all forms of construction including small to medium project homes, large and complex architecturally designed homes and multi-residential developments ranging from single storey units to multi-level townhouse-style developments. His commercial experience covers the whole range of building classes including hotels, factory and process buildings, warehouse developments, shopping centres, office buildings, aged care facilities, schools, sports centres, and other public assembly buildings. Julian has completed a Graduate Certificate in Performance-Based Building and Fire Codes and has broad experience with performance-based solutions across a variety of building types.

Roland Wierenga
Senior Principal Building Surveyor
Roland is a highly experienced Building Surveyor with practice in both local government and private certification and has a clear understanding of the demands of the private industry sector and its relationship to the statutory development approval processes. With over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry, his experience and expertise in the last fifteen years has been specifically focused on the requirements of the National Construction Code for large and small commercial developments from concept to completion and complex and innovative performance-based solutions. Roland is also the current Tasmanian Director of the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors and a past winner of the Tasmanian Building Surveyor of the Year award.

Ross Willis
Business Manager
Ross brings extensive experience from the local government sector, where he has demonstrated strong management skills in development approvals, financial budgeting, policy development, and procedural compliance. His role involves coordinating and reviewing processes to enhance service delivery and financial management, contributing to the continued growth and success of essential services projects. With a proven track record in improving operational efficiencies and implementing strategic improvements, Ross plays a key role in driving the development and management of projects, to assist in ensuring they meet both current and future needs.

Patryk Jez
Senior Building Surveyor
Patryk has over 16 years’ experience in the Building Industry in a variety of roles. With a Bachelor of Architecture with Honours, a Diploma of Building Surveying and a Graduate Diploma in the Built Environment, Patryk’s background is in Architecture and Residential / Commercial Building Surveying. Patryk has a wealth of experience, including assessing of documentation from small scale to large scale buildings ranging from Class 1 to 10 which involved performance solutions, undertaking Inspections of projects throughout building stages ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and the National Construction Code. He has great communication skills with various stakeholders in a timely manner and in accordance with their expectations.

Dan Witte
Senior Building Surveyor Limited
With over eight years of dedicated experience in residential building surveying, coupled with an impressive 20-year tenure as an accredited building practitioner in Tasmania, Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. He has been instrumental in ensuring projects meet compliance standards and delivering exceptional outcomes across a wide range of developments.

Ronald Viney
Senior Building Surveyor Limited
Ronald has over 25 years' experience in building surveying, predominantly in local government. Before that he worked in the construction industry for 15 years as a carpenter/joiner and project manager. Since joining pitt&sherry Building Surveying, Ronald's focus has been certification and inspection of residential developments including small and medium project homes, large and complex architecturally designed homes and multi-residential developments ranging from single-storey units to multi-level townhouse-style developments.

Kirsten Wilson
Building Surveyor Limited
Kirsten is a qualified Building Surveyor Limited accredited with both CBOS and AIBS. She has a diverse range of experience in Building Code certification of both commercial and residential projects. Her commercial experience also extends to essential services auditing, emergency procedures development and temporary occupancy permits. Kirsten is a HERA accredited NatHERS assessor following completion of a Certificate IV in Home Energy Efficiency and Sustainability.

Mark Legge
Building Surveyor Technician
Mark has a Bachelor of Architecture, a Masters in Town Planning and is currently completing a Graduate Diploma in Building Surveying. Mark previously worked in Project Management, Design, and as a Building Surveyor in local council and private practice.

Edith Evans
Building Surveyor Technician
Edith joined pitt&sherry Building Surveying as an Assistant Building Surveyor, bringing a strong academic background and valuable industry experience to our team. She has completed a Master of Building Surveying with Western Sydney University, further enhancing her expertise in the field. Edith holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Tasmania, where she developed a solid foundation in design principles and sustainability. Before joining us, Edith gained significant experience in the construction industry, where she played a key role in developing and implementing workplace health, safety, and environmental management systems. Her dedication to these critical areas has equipped her with the skills to ensure compliance and promote best practices on our projects. Edith's commitment to professional growth and her comprehensive understanding of both design and safety make her a valuable asset to our team.

Simon Andrews
Building Surveyor Technician
Simon, who holds a Bachelor of Building Surveying from Victoria University, brings extensive experience from both private and government sectors. He has recently worked with the City of Melbourne’s Building Enforcement team, focusing on buildings with combustible cladding. Simon is an accredited member of the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS). Known for his client-focused approach and thorough understanding of the Building Act, Regulations, and Building Code, Simon is a significant asset to any project. His notable projects include the demolition and construction of three-storey dwellings at 66 Greville Street, Prahran, and 2 Lisbuoy Court, Toorak, as well as managing cladding removal at the Crown Metropol Hotel and RMIT University. Simon’s broad project experience underlines his ability to effectively manage complex building surveying challenges.

Alana Reyenga
Graduate Building Surveyor
Alana joined pitt&sherry Building Surveying as a Building Surveying Technician, bringing with her valuable experience in local government where she focused on building compliance administration. During her time in local government, Alana completed her Certificate III in Business and became a Certified Project Officer. Currently, Alana is pursuing a Bachelor of Building Surveying and Certification through Central Queensland University. Alana works across a variety of commercial projects. She is dedicated to achieving successful outcomes and ensuring compliance for our clients, reflecting her commitment to high standards in building surveying.

Mohamed Sanad
Graduate Building Surveyor
Mohamed joined pitt&sherry as an Cadet Building Surveyor and has since completed his Bachelor of Building Surveying. He is currently advancing his expertise by pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Performance-Based Building and Fire Codes. Mohamed’s experience covers diverse project types and industries. He has worked on major commercial refurbishments like the Melbourne Town Hall Audit and the 19-storey Victoria University building at 300 Flinders Street. His portfolio includes high-rise projects such as the 13-storey apartment building at 339 Williamstown Road and the 5-storey apartment at 6 Sutton Street. Additionally, Mohamed has contributed to specialised projects, including the concrete plant at 37-65 Walchs Road and the restaurant renewal at 238 Whitehall Road. His experience also spans mixed-use developments like the apartment and retail building at 2 Warrandyte Road and office building renewals at 71–73 Webb Street.

Zoe Bigwood
Cadet Building Surveyor
Zoe is a Cadet Building Surveyor in our Hobart office, specialising in residential projects. With more than six years of experience in the private building surveying industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. Zoe holds a Diploma of Building Design and is currently advancing her expertise by pursuing an Associate Degree of Building Surveying at CQU University. Her experience includes contributing to several multi-million dollar architectural homes.

Emily Breganti
Cadet Building Surveyor
Emily started with pitt&sherry Building Surveying in an administrative capacity, where she completed her Certificate III in Business. Her dedication and interest in the field led her to transition into the role of Building Surveying Cadet. Currently, Emily is pursuing a Bachelor of Building Surveying and Certification through Central Queensland University. Her ongoing studies and hands-on experience reflect her commitment to deepening her expertise and advancing her career within the building surveying profession. Emily’s growth and enthusiasm for her role make her a valuable asset to our team as she continues to develop her skills and knowledge.

Zak Hartog
Cadet Building Surveyor
Zak is a Building Surveyor with over 11 years of experience in the construction industry, including 8 years as a builder and 3 years in building surveying. He has contributed to a wide range of residential projects, from single dwellings and bespoke architectural homes to large-scale unit developments. Zak's combination of practical and technical knowledge makes him a valuable asset to any project. Recently, he joined the commercial team at pitt&sherry. Zak holds a Certificate III in Carpentry and is set to begin a Graduate Certificate in Building Surveying at the University of South Australia next year.

Taylah Stanley
Administration Officer
Taylah is an Administration Officer with pitt&sherry Building Surveying, where she effectively handles various administrative tasks. She has completed her Certificate IV in Business and is studying at Central Queensland University to become a Building Surveyor. Taylah is keen to join the technical team and is actively developing her skills to support her career aspirations. Her dedication and growing expertise make her a valuable member of our team.

Kyla Douglas
Administration Officer
Kyla Douglas is an Administration Officer within our evolving Victorian team. She has a diverse background in construction administration, having worked in residential volume building, demolition and in both the local government and private sectors. Currently, Kyla is pursuing a Diploma of Building & Construction, further enhancing her knowledge and ability to support our dynamic team.

Katie Pearce
Administration Officer
Katie is an experienced Administration Officer with an Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying and over 11 years in the building and construction industry. She brings a wealth of knowledge from her work within Local Government, specialising in building compliance, auditing, and enforcement across both Victoria and Tasmania.

Amelia Knight
Administration Officer
Amelia joined pitt&sherry Building Surveying in 2023 as an Administration Assistant working from our Devonport Office. She has over 10 years experience in customer service and administration across a variety of fields including property management, local government and building surveying. Amelia’s main focus is supporting the Northern Tasmanian building surveying team.

Lily Drew
Administration Officer
Lily is currently completing her Certificate III in Business, where she’s gaining valuable insights into the processes and regulations of building surveying. With a keen eye for detail and a dedication to learning, Lily is focused on specialising in Building Surveying Administration, ensuring efficient and accurate support for our team and clients.

1963
Brian Pitt, a Civil Engineer with the Devonport Marine Board founds pitt&sherry as a consulting business.

1965
Brian was joined by Clive Sherry, a Municipal Engineer at Devonport Council.

1996
pitt&sherry Building Surveying is established with Barry Neilsen and the late Peter Ray. Both were pioneers in private certification when building surveying was first privatised in 1990.

2024
With over 25 years in business, we’ve expanded to a team across Tasmania and Victoria, with offices in Melbourne, Hobart, Devonport, and Launceston.
