The project included some innovative construction practices with the bathrooms for 173 of the 187 rooms being prefabricated pods that were manufactured in New South Wales and transported to the site as fully complete units, only requiring connection to services. Fire engineering strategies included reduced fire-rated construction, variations to bounding construction of corridors, extended distance of travel to exits and extended fire hydrant coverage.
